Please Don’t Feed Shelter Pets JUNK FOOD

We first want to say that we understand this is being done with the best intentions.

Here is how it often works.

A pet owner feeds their pet one brand of pet food.

Then, when they are at the grocery store or big box discount store, the pick up a bag of Generic Food to donate to the shelter.

Maybe they do this because it is all they can afford… and after all, something is better than nothing… right?

Or… maybe they feel by purchasing the cheapest food they can find, they can get the most “food for their dollar” and actually donate MORE food to the shelter this way.

Unfortunately… low quality, generic food is not the best choice for pets… either your pets OR the shelter pets.

We discovered this a long time ago with our cats. You see… we were feeding them just regular “grocery store” cat food… until someone convinced us to purchase higher quality food.

When we did this… we found out that our cats ate less (i.e. the food was more nutrient rich, less “fillers”)… AND they produced less waste in the litter box. (Their bodies actually “used” more of the food, as opposed to simply “passing it through” their bodies.)

Feeding “junk food” to shelter pets means that they need to receive a larger amount of food to get the same nutritional value.

Also… more waste being produced, by feeding pets low quality food… means more cleanup for shelter workers.

So what can you do to kick the “Junk Food Donation” habit?

One easy solution is switch your dog to BOGO Bowl food.

1. There are SEVEN, good quality, great tasting formulas.

2. Your dog’s food will be shipped directly to your front door… How Convenient! 🙂

3. For every bag of food you purchase, the EXACT same bag will be donated to a shelter.

Good Food for your dog… Shipped directly to your house… and a bag donated to a shelter for every bag you buy… It’s a Win-Win-Win situation.

  1. What’s up, I check your blogs on a regular basis. Your story-telling style is awesome, keep doing what you’re doing!

  2. It’s genuinely very complex in this busy life to listen news on Television, therefore I only use world wide web for that reason, and take the latest information.
